Infrared heat relaxes muscles and speeds up recovery. Some spas have infrared and red light therapy built into the seats.
Infrared heat penetrates deeper into your muscles than warm water alone. You may be familiar with it from the sauna or your physical therapist.
In a spa, that heat is in the backrest of the seat, often combined with red light therapy. It's great after a workout, or if you have a stiff back or neck.
To be fair, of all our brands, only Jacuzzi has this built in, and it's found in the more expensive lines. So it does affect the price.

Things to Keep in Mind
Chlorine or salt
Some spas use chlorine, while others use a salt system. One isn't necessarily easier than the other, but they are different: salt is especially good for sensitive skin. We'll explain the difference to you in detail.
Well insulated
How well a hot tub is insulated and covered makes a big difference in energy consumption. It’s a good idea to keep this in mind when comparing hot tubs.
A Massage You Can Feel
It's not about the number of jets, but where the massage targets: your back, neck, or feet. Just try it out for a moment, and you'll immediately know what's right for you.
Infrared for Recovery

The original. Powerful massage and the only one with infrared in the seats.
Jacuzzi is the inventor of hydromassage. In 1956, the Jacuzzi family built the first hydromassage pump, and the name became synonymous with the spa itself. For nearly seventy years, everything about this brand has revolved around one thing: a massage you can really feel.
What you'll notice
- A targeted, powerful massage, with jets positioned precisely on the back, neck, and shoulders
- The only brand to offer infrared and red light therapy in the seats
- A wide range, from the affordable Classic series to the luxury J-400 and J-500 series

Aquavia designs and builds all of its spas in Europe, specifically in Spain. You'll get a lot of spa for your money, with a wide range of options from affordably priced entry-level models to true designer spas.

Hot Spring
For those who prefer salt to chlorine, for example, if they have sensitive skin.
Hot Spring has been building spas in the United States since 1977 and has grown to become one of the best-selling spa brands in the world. We carry it mainly for one reason: the salt system. It’s no easier than chlorine, but it’s different—and especially great for those who are sensitive to chlorine.
What you'll notice
- Standard salt system: You add salt, and the spa converts it into chlorine on its own
- Moto-Massage: a jet that moves up and down along your back
- Highly insulated, so energy-efficient
