Arable in 1901
Kors and Cornelia van Beem settled on IJweg in 1901 and started Boerderij Ruimzicht.
Arable in 1939
In 1939, son Gerrit van Beem took over arable farming. In addition to arable farming, homegrown crops such as potatoes and onions were sold in the barn.
Arable in 1971
In 1971, the 3rd generation Leen van Beem and his wife Ineke took over Farm Ruimzicht and continued arable farming.
Nursery in 1975
Brothers Leen and Koos van Beem start building greenhouses to start a plant nursery together.
The Van Beem Outdoor Living family
Van Beem Buitenleven is a family business, and that doesn't stop at having the same last name. Together with all of our employees, we are a close-knit team, working on the most beautiful outdoor living projects.
Nursery in 1980
The nursery not only grew plants itself, but also sold the home-grown houseplants.
Garden Center in 1988
Koos van Beem continues independently and decides to quit the plant nursery. In 1988, the plant nursery makes way for a garden center.
Gardens and porches in 2002
Gerko van Beem gets involved in the family business by building gardens as an independent landscaper in 2002. In 2005 Gerko takes over his father Koos' garden center. In 2011 the sale of canopies and Sunscreen.
Outdoor living showroom in 2019
After 30 years, the garden center stops and it is decided to offer a total concept to create the perfect garden. The garden center is completely remodeled into an impressive 10,000m² outdoor living showroom.
